Final Destination part 2
Insperation: Trophisms
Overall design logic: Splashes
Result: Weird
The original tube design was a sine wave further compounded by attractor points that increased the transparency of there area(by straitening the tubes) pushing the design of this even further I added “Splashes” that produced compound curves further adding the the intrigue of the surface. The over all shape of the bus shelter was based off of the over all dimensions of a city bus. Especially on campus both doors are used 100% of the time and current bus shelter designs only accommodate the one front door. Seeing mass transit pushing its limits in the large capacity direction In this design I tried to mimic the size and length of a light rail station that accommodates all entrances and exits at once.
The design does a few things inherently, dampens large amplitude low frequency rumbling from street noise and provides intriguing sun effects through the tube structure.
